One Of the Great Lessons of My Life In the humdrum of modern life, we sometimes forget how much we can learn from those experiences to which we consider to be unpleasant. Photo by Silas Schneider on Unsplash I started my teaching career from a Federal Govt. Intermediate College as on ad-hoc basis. I used to be very happy when heard the word ‘Professor’. It was quite a new academic world that remained a permanent faclicity in my life. The session normally started in August and ended by the end of Send-up exams in January or February. The rest of the months passed quite leisurely manner. One of the happiest phases of my life. During my whole tenure in that college, I had a lot of experiences that I can share.  Okay let’s come to the main topic: There was also another professor in English department. 12| A Bitter Fact of Life There are many bitter facts of life, death is the unique one. Nobody can dare to deny it. Once we were children; where our youth has gone; and how life has become so hard in old age; all that seems too fleeting to be true. Man is a slave of his destiny and it is his destiny that backends him to move towards it. Everything is beyond his power but his will and determination. Whether he makes the best use of his inborn abilities or not, God has bestowed them upon him. Those who think that they can't do that are mistaken because the opportunities are everywhere whether we realize it or not. People around us are making money by dint of their efforts and skill. Our destiny is borrowed in accordance with our efforts.   Once I met with a person who had three boys. He was talking about the wretch condition of his eldest son. Yesterday, our dearest and respected leader and guide, Muhammad Akmal A Rahman (Director of Punjab College Sialkot) left this mortal world after a short and desperate struggle to survive in a hospital. During his very short journey towards the final destination, he has left a lasting mark on everyone's heart and mind.
